Spectators: 7093 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 5) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Hipolito Oliviero made the kick off which started today's match. Santa Clara's Cayetano Firme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipolito Oliviero in the 4th minute of play. Oscar Emeterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Amador Bernat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chimborazo AFC's Amador Bernat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Emeterio in the 10th minute of play. Cayetano Firme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Oliviero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Clara's zone, Anastasio Claude stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Firme came out of the goal and Anastasio Claude tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anastasio Claude was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 15th minute. Chimborazo AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Oscar Emeterio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amador Bernat having to interfere. Oscar Emeterio struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Amador Bernat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Clara. 25 minutes into the game, Hector Erlantz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chimborazo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Clara the free kick. After a rather tough play, Chimborazo AFC's Hector Erlantz got a free kick in the 25th minute. Amador Bernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Emeterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melchor Ermano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chimborazo AFC's Amador Bernat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Ermano in the 41st minute of play. If Oscar Emeterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Santa Clara's Severo Belarmo got a free kick in the 45th minute. Cayetano Firme stood somewhat misplaced when Anastasio Claude came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 47 minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Emeterio to make the kick off. Severo Belarmo charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Severo Belarmo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 played minutes Santa Clara got a freekick which was hit by Severo Belarmo. Anastasio Claude recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the game, one of Santa Clara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Chimborazo AFC a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Generoso Frechoso, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Santa Clara's Cayetano Firme. 2-0. 77 minutes into the game, Anastasio Claude was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chimborazo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Clara the free kick. Anastasio Claude kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play, Chimborazo AFC's Hipolito Oliviero made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cayetano Firme was left in no man's land by his defense there! Anastasio Claude might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cayetano Firme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anastasio Claude ran back to his position shaking his head. Hipolito Oliviero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Cayetano Firme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hector Erlantz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. Hector Erlantz hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Oscar Emeterio struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Amador Bernat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Clara. Santa Clara's Oscar Emeterio got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Santa Clara getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Angelino Ermano hit a great ball. Chimborazo AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
