Alfonso Gonzales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Stanislao, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. When Erasmo Ospetsu came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Euskadi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Ospetsu couldn't finish the play. Avantgarde's Alfonso Gonzales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Ospetsu in the 17th minute of play. Euskadi's Leon Frances played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Ganix in the 19th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Erasmo Ospetsu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis Ganix to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Euskadi got a freekick which was hit by Astor Vermudo. With an all-out effort, Euskadi's Alfonso Gonzales threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Erasmo Ospetsu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Saturnino Mikelats hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Erasmo Ospetsu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Blas Kaiet in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Frances prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Segundo Teodor kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. 97 minutes into the game, Domingos Frantzes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avantgarde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Euskadi the free kick. Euskadi played a much better game than Avantgarde and deserved their victory. The Avantgarde players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
