When Domingos Frantzes fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avantgarde's protests and gave Domingos Frantzes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Avantgarde's Domingos Frantzes got a free kick in the 11th minute. Alfonso Gonzales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Bladi in the 15th minute of the match. Victorio Sayveon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chelco's Tomás Rudolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Chelco from getting a goal against them. Alfonso Gonzales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorio Sayveon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 30 minutes, Victorio Sayveon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victorio Sayveon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Bladi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfonso Gonzales was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Bladi in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfonso Gonzales prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luis Ganix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Rudolfo having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Blas Kaiet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Rudolfo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 47 minutes, Domingos Frantzes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avantgarde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Frantzes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis Ganix to strike the kick off in the second half. Luis Ganix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Rudolfo having to interfere. Blas Kaiet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tomás Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Bladi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alfonso Gonzales firmly grabbed it by the left post. Chelco's Victorio Sayveon got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Blas Kaiet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Ganix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chelco! The referee gave Avantgarde a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Niceto Gonchan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chelco's Tomás Rudolfo. 2-0. Bernardo Bladi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Gonzales having to interfere. Chelco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avantgarde the free kick. The supporters of Avantgarde booed when Chelco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Eliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Ganix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Rudolfo having to interfere. Tomás Rudolfo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Ganix's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chelco's zone, Luis Ganix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Rudolfo came out of the goal and Luis Ganix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Blas Kaiet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Blas Kaiet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Rudolfo having to interfere. If Blas Kaiet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Avantgarde had played much better football throughout.
