With a little luck, alumni azuleño's Sebastian Eliazar got control of the ball when Anier Faro tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Anier Faro came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Portugalete AFC fans jumped to their feet. Nereo Shepherd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Frasquito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nereo Shepherd in the 27th minute of play. Sebastian Eliazar made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Anier Faro sent off a good shot on target. Oscar Frasquito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Aritza, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Sebastian Eliazar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Anier Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Eliazar having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Higinio Felipo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 67 played minutes Portugalete AFC got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mikolas. A hard shot by Roman Orkatz from long distance, 67 minutes into the match, got Oscar Frasquito's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Fernan Eriz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nereo Shepherd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
