Arnaldo Ramirezs short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Zacarias Astigar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Omar Elizardo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. When Arnaldo Ramirez came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Despeñaderos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Ramirez couldn't finish the play. Zacarias Astigar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaldo Ramirez in the 42nd minute. In the 46th match minute, Sporting Clud was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Jordy to maneuver through the defense. Zacarias Astigar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Urdaspal in the 47th minute of play.

If Arnaldo Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Ramirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Zacarias Astigar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sporting Clud defense, Arnaldo Ramirez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zacarias Astigar. The Sporting Clud fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zacarias Astigar should have stopped the shot. In the 66th minute Arnaldo Ramirez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Astigar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Sporting Clud's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Ramirez came free, but Zacarias Astigar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Despeñaderos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Bidun to maneuver through the defense. Ildefonso Nabar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gregorio Calisto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Errolan in the 78th minute of the match. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Sporting Clud's Anacleto Aurre in the 82nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Gregorio Calisto was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Despeñaderos through an amazing save. If Arnaldo Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despeñaderos made a substitution. Severo Ignado replaced Leonides Palos. Gaston Urdaspal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zacarias Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
