EXCURSIO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Despeñaderos the free kick. The supporters of Despeñaderos booed when EXCURSIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Serapio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnaldo Ramirez struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Rogelio Dorio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Despeñaderos. Gregorio Calisto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Honorato Ostargi in the 30th minute. EXCURSIO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaston Urdaspal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After having played for 40 minutes, Arnaldo Ramirez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despeñaderos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Ramirez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gregorio Calisto came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by EXCURSIO's Honorato Ostargi. But to his dismay, Honorato Ostargi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.

52 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Despeñaderos's Gaston Urdaspal fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 56 minutes into the game, Despeñaderos's Arnaldo Ramirez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogelio Dorio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Hilario Quintana tried in the game's 81st match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Rogelio Dorio. An annoying self made goal, 2-5. 86 minutes into the match, Despeñaderos's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Furman came free, but Gregorio Calisto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Despeñaderos getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Denis Bidun hit a great ball. Despeñaderos's Severo Ignado was substituted for Leonides Palos.
