Erubiel Fresco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Mario Bertran when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mario Bertran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anier Illart, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Fresco in the 14th minute of play forced San Martin's goalkeeper Mario Bertran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduardo Feo got free with Mario Bertran in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in San Martin's zone, Anier Illart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Bertran came out of the goal and Anier Illart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to San Martin getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Braulio Baladi hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Eduardo Feo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spurs United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Horacio Bortzaioriz kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Mario Bertran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomiro Fe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Eduardo Feo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bartolo Gutierrez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Victoriano Jaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Gutierrez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Victoriano Jaume was a little too slow when Arsenio Vargas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 1-1. Bartolo Gutierrez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victoriano Jaume read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Mario Bertran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Fresco in the 57th minute of the match. After 59 minutes, Carmelo Javiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martin and the Spurs United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mario Bertran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomiro Fe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomiro Fe in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mario Bertran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Spurs United's Eduardo Feo in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Martin's goalie prevented a goal. After 72 minutes of play, San Martin's Arsenio Vargas made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victoriano Jaume was left in no man's land by his defense there! 80 minutes into the match, San Martin's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Fe came free, but Mario Bertran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Baldomiro Fe got free in front of the goal in the 83rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Mario Bertran was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in San Martin's zone, Eduardo Feo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Bertran came out of the goal and Eduardo Feo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th match minute, San Martin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justo Elivareo to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute, Baldomiro Fe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mario Bertran was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Baldomiro Fe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mario Bertran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Fe in the 98th minute of play. Spurs United were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
