Erasmo Ugaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Elija, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurelio Chayo in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Humberto Johans saved Escalada from getting behind. With his leg Humberto Johans managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when EL FONDO's Aurelio Chayo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aurelio Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Johans having to interfere. Humberto Johans stood somewhat misplaced when Aurelio Chayo came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. Escalada's Humberto Johans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Chayo in the 37th minute of play. Cecilio Ur did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-0 to the left of a surprised Humberto Johans 38 minutes into the match. Humberto Johans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Sabin in the 42nd minute of play. If Arnoldo Elija had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Aurelio Chayo made the kick off in the second half. Humberto Johans came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by EL FONDO's Aurelio Chayo. But to his dismay, Aurelio Chayo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. EL FONDO's Aurelio Chayo got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Johans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Sabin, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Escalada's zone, Severo Sabin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Johans came out of the goal and Severo Sabin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Johans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Chayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Aurelio Chayo managed to get in a good position for a shot. EL FONDO's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelio Chayo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Johans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcial Tono in the 85th minute of play forced Escalada's goalkeeper Humberto Johans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Aurelio Chayo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evaristo Gumaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Humberto Johans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evaristo Gumaro ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the game, Marcial Tono cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Humberto Johans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. EL FONDO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
