In the 17th minute Basilio Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Eguntsenti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Oling Club's Alberto Eguntsenti got control of the ball when Roman Clis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Clis got free with Alberto Eguntsenti in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roman Clis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Eguntsenti having to make a save. In the 30th minute Nemesio Gitano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Niva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Eguntsenti was a little too slow when Basilio Gilabert got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 1-1. Alberto Eguntsenti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Pero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Oling Club booed when Monjes Shaolin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Fertus didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Monjes Shaolin's goal looked a bit too open when Nemesio Gitano came free, but Baldomero Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nemesio Gitano to strike the kick off in the second half. Basilio Gilabert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Eguntsenti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Florentino Perutxo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oling Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florentino Perutxo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florentino Perutxo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Baldomero Niva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Roman Clis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oling Club's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
