Severo Tabb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejandro Piearres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Mariano Loreto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Deportivo Atómico's Nicasio Inge. Nicasio Inge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Alejandro Piearres came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Deportivo Atómico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alejandro Piearres couldn't finish the play. In the 28th match minute, Carcnaval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Ovando to maneuver through the defense. Severo Tabb made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubaldo Lucero in the 30th minute. Carcnaval's Severo Tabb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro Piearres in the 31st minute of play. If Candido Baumer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Atómico's Nicasio Inge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Loreto in the 38th minute of play. Candido Baumer's late challenge caught a Carcnaval's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Candido Baumer helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Carcnaval booed when Deportivo Atómico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Baumer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicasio Inge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Loreto in the 41st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Mariano Loreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carcnaval's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Loreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicasio Inge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Luciano Arnalt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicasio Inge was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. After the first half Carcnaval were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alejandro Piearres to make the kick off. Severo Tabb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Piearres in the 56th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Luciano Arnalt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 61 played minutes Deportivo Atómico got a freekick which was hit by Candido Baumer. When Basilio Ovando was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 67 minutes had been played. Basilio Ovando kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Alejandro Piearres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Atómico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alejandro Piearres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severo Tabb breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 74 minutes into the game, Alejandro Piearres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Severo Tabb was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Atómico's Clemente Bermund got a free kick in the 76th minute. Marco Koldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luciano Arnalt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Candido Baumer got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Candido Baumer kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After having played for 95 minutes, Erasmo Precioso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carcnaval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Precioso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
