After a defensive mix-up in Escobar's zone, Romeo Gamus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Silvanito came out of the goal and Romeo Gamus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Silvanito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobo Remigio, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Delmiro Macias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Sidro in the 46th minute of play. The supporters of Escobar booed when Tacoyoj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Remigio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jacobo Remigio to strike the kick off in the second half. Moises Calisto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 51st playminute. The crowd rose to their feet as Escobar's Flavio Alonso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Delmiro Macias. That made the score 0-2 after 55 minutes of play. Teodosio Cordairo charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
