In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Chapuy's goalkeeper Melquiades Cugat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 5th match minute, Club Atletico Taquelman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anastasio Ekialde to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Chapuy's Melquiades Chan fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Melquiades Cugat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Ekialde in the 9th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Melquiades Chan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amador Gaur. Melquiades Chan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Club Atletico Taquelman's Mario Eudoxio in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chapuy's goalie prevented a goal. Melquiades Cugat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Elia in the 22nd minute of play. After 24th play minutes Mario Eudoxio shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Melquiades Cugat and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Chapuy booed when Club Atletico Taquelman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Ciceron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amador Gaur came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Chapuy's Eduardo Lalla. But to his dismay, Eduardo Lalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Melquiades Chan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honorio Elia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Cugat having to interfere. After having played for 54 minutes, Mario Eudoxio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Taquelman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Eudoxio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Honorio Elia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Melquiades Cugat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Honorio Elia notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Chapuy's Melquiades Cugat. Melquiades Cugat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Eduardo Lalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 62 minutes into the match, Chapuy's Eduardo Lalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amador Gaur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Alonzo Feliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Mario Eudoxio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Cugat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melquiades Cugat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Eudoxio in the 78th minute of play. Melquiades Cugat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Honorio Elia in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Alonzo Feliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chapuy's Melquiades Cugat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Chapuy from getting a goal against them. Amador Gaur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melquiades Chan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chapuy! Maximo Cortez walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Honorio Elia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico Taquelman's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Elia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Cugat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mario Eudoxio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Cugat having to interfere. Club Atletico Taquelman were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
