Freddy Gagriel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lorenzo Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonzalo Quintyn in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Gagriel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fermin Ugutz kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rene Terciero was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Freddy Gagriel managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Patria o Muerte's Gonzalo Quintyn fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Patria o Muerte's goalkeeper Baldomero Viator, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Freddy Gagriel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonzalo Quintyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Rene Terciero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Viator having to interfere. Gonzalo Quintyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonzalo Quintyn might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Freddy Gagriel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonzalo Quintyn ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Quintyn in the 89th minute of play forced Instituto's goalkeeper Freddy Gagriel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Freddy Gagriel managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Patria o Muerte's Gonzalo Quintyn fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 93 minutes, Honorio Romildo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Instituto and the Patria o Muerte players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Instituto got a freekick which was hit by Honorio Romildo. 96 minutes into the game, Gonzalo Quintyn recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Freddy Gagriel. Gonzalo Quintyn showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Patria o Muerte players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
