When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Denis Pere took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Freddy Gagriel to make any attempt to save it. If Sergio Cordairo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Rene Terciero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Conrado Iratze was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Conrado Iratze showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Terciero, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Anacleto Ascencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Gagriel having to interfere. When Apolo Montez came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Bella Vista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apolo Montez couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the game, Instituto's Rene Terciero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Conrado Iratze made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Freddy Gagriel made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Denis Pere sent off a good shot on target. Adolfo Mon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Freddy Gagriel having to make a save. 42 minutes into the game, Bella Vista's Anacleto Ascencio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freddy Gagriel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Freddy Gagriel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jonas Lehen hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Anacleto Ascencio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Apolo Montez struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Freddy Gagriel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bella Vista. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
