Spectators: 6653 (Terracing: 5410, Seating: 1100, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Guillermo Presebal got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Ramon Tirso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeronimo Silbestre. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Primitivo Vincent got a free kick in the 4th minute. Jeronimo Silbestre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeronimo Silbestre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramon Tirso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Ramon Tirso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermin Fraco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 played minutes, RS1990's Pedro Nastasio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramon Tirso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RS1990 reached it. In the 18thth minute of the game Fermin Fraco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells Old Boys's Ramon Tirso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeronimo Silbestre charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeronimo Silbestre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd minute, Jeronimo Silbestre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute Fermin Fraco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Tirso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th match minute, RS1990 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonzalo Haitz to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Ceferino Izel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RS1990's Jeronimo Silbestre got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Fermin Fraco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Tirso came out of the goal and Fermin Fraco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramon Tirso made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Jeronimo Silbestre sent off a good shot on target. Godofredo Oinaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fermin Fraco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ramon Tirso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeronimo Silbestre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Sabino's late challenge caught a RS1990's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Sabino helped the player get up and apologised. Ricardo Sabino hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Jeronimo Silbestre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Tirso having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Jeronimo Silbestre managed to get in a good position for a shot. RS1990's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeronimo Silbestre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Tirso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 59 minutes into the match, Godofredo Oinaz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of RS1990's Phil Dietz. Phil Dietz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th minute, Damaso Oliviero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phil Dietz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Presebal in the 72nd minute of the match. Godofredo Oinaz struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Phil Dietz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newells Old Boys. After 75 minutes, Flavio Incendio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RS1990 and the Newells Old Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. Flavio Incendio kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Jeronimo Silbestre came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the RS1990 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeronimo Silbestre couldn't finish the play. Fermin Fraco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to RS1990 getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Flavio Incendio hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Felipe Hernandez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and RS1990's Phil Dietz didn't even have to move. RS1990's Fermin Fraco got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
