In the 13th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Hernandez to maneuver through the defense. Delmar Lucado struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Ramon Tirso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LUTGARDIS RIVEROS. Ruben Santo charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Santo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Newells Old Boys's Godofredo Oinaz, in the 47th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. Arnulfo Palos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Newells Old Boys's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
