In the 4th minute of the match Amadeo Gorri sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Aimar skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Almagro booed when Tres Arroyos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Palos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rodolfo Leocadio came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the San Lorenzo de Almagro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Leocadio couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Tadeo Cilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Hugo Aimar managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when San Lorenzo de Almagro's Ulises Abancens fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 12 minutes, Cesar Palos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tres Arroyos F.C. and the San Lorenzo de Almagro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Tres Arroyos F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Palos to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo de Almagro's zone, Casimiro Tano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Veto came out of the goal and Casimiro Tano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Efrain Aurken scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guaberto Veto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the game, Efrain Aurken cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Guaberto Veto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Casimiro Tano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Efrain Aurken came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Tres Arroyos F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efrain Aurken couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Rodolfo Leocadio got a free kick in the 40th minute. Casimiro Tano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodolfo Leocadio made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casimiro Tano in the 52nd minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Almagro's goalkeeper Guaberto Veto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Casimiro Tano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efrain Aurken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Guaberto Veto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulises Abancens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. San Lorenzo de Almagro's Guaberto Veto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo de Almagro from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute, San Lorenzo de Almagro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Efrain Aurken fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With an all-out effort, Tres Arroyos F.C.'s Guaberto Veto threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Casimiro Tano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Guaberto Veto got control of the ball when Efrain Aurken tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tres Arroyos F.C.'s Casimiro Tano got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The San Lorenzo de Almagro fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tres Arroyos F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
