The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, Instituto Fc's Anastasio Rainerio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornelio Laurin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Nimbus's zone, Atilano Heriberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Laurin came out of the goal and Atilano Heriberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Rainerio in the 35th minute of play forced Nimbus's goalkeeper Cornelio Laurin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Instituto Fc! A collision led to Instituto Fc getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Atilano Heriberto hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the game, Abelardo Crispo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nimbus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Instituto Fc the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Nimbus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Crispo to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Filomeno Astudillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Instituto Fc's Guillermo Cebrian in action when he in the 47th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucas Chago was the one to do the kick off. Filomeno Astudillo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The long shot by Guillermo Cebrian in the 60th minute really tested Cornelio Laurin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Lucas Chago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iker Selmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Gervaso, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The supporters of Nimbus booed when Instituto Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atilano Heriberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anastasio Rainerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Instituto Fc's Lucas Chago got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ubaldo Gervaso struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Iker Selmo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nimbus. Anastasio Rainerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cornelio Laurin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucas Chago's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Ubaldo Gervaso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Selmo having to interfere. The Nimbus support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
