Everyone was convinced a goal was close when River Plate's Eugenio Frances in the 41st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Virgilio Dubardo was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Uspallata through an amazing save. Saturnino Faro scored 0-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moises Costante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Lázaro Fonda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
