Thanks to some nice moves Ruben Baumar could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Oscar Quintana however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Belmiro during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Napaleofú FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Felix Belmiro hit a great ball. Rodolfo Millan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruben Baumar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Quintana having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Leonides Policarpio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balbastro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Ruben Baumar came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Napaleofú FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben Baumar couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Federico Guipuzkoa during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Balbastro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Napaleofú FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Oscar Quintana, was totally fooled by Napaleofú FC's Rene Damario, who 47 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo Millan to make the kick off. Napaleofú FC's Pedro Hibai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Policarpio in the 54th minute of play. Rodolfo Millan struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Oscar Quintana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Napaleofú FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Millan in the 60th minute of play forced Balbastro's goalkeeper Oscar Quintana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Hibai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonides Policarpio in the 63rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Rodolfo Millan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Napaleofú FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Millan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Quintana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Rodolfo Millan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Quintana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Hibai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Reno in the 91st minute of play. Leonides Policarpio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Pedro Hibai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leonides Policarpio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
