After 33 played minutes Otto y Cata got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Gabrio. The supporters of Otto y Cata booed when ATENAS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Florian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Bento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Otto y Cata's Augusto Sesuldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Bento in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45thth minute of the game Gabriel Bento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Otto y Cata's Augusto Sesuldo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute, Ciriaco Roldan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Bento to make the kick off.
