Alfonso Juvenal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Txema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, Necochea AFC's Rosendo Sanchez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfonso Juvenal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Fortineros's Alfonso Juvenal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Mannie in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Fortineros getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Carmelo Obano hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, Necochea AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Aballe to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Juvenal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Patxi in the 26th minute of play. Alfonso Juvenal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melquiades Madeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Txema, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute of the match Fortineros got a corner. Necochea AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Domingo Abecia ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Fortineros's Domingo Abecia to fire away a dangerous shot which Melquiades Madeo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 38 played minutes Necochea AFC got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Mannie. Carmelo Obano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Madeo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Mario Frichoso in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Fortineros's Carmelo Obano. Fortineros's Haroldo Txema got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Necochea AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Haroldo Txema stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cecilio Patxi got free with Alfonso Juvenal in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rosendo Sanchez in the 58th minute of play forced Fortineros's goalkeeper Alfonso Juvenal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Haroldo Txema blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melquiades Madeo having to make a save. When Rosendo Sanchez came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Necochea AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosendo Sanchez couldn't finish the play. After 62 played minutes Fortineros got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Pirro. Fortineros's Haroldo Txema got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Txema in the 72nd minute of play forced Necochea AFC's goalkeeper Melquiades Madeo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Armando Boni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eloy Pirro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carmelo Obano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eloy Pirro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Melquiades Madeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eloy Pirro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melquiades Madeo having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Necochea AFC's zone, Carmelo Obano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Madeo came out of the goal and Carmelo Obano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulino Mannie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Alfonso Juvenal made a huge save. Necochea AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Fortineros's much stronger midfield.
