The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, gilguero's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Fidensio came free, but Froilan Chorache reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Emanuel Rodas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Emanuel Rodas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Melquiades Ebardo made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Ezkerra in the 20th minute of play forced Cachiyuyo's goalkeeper Melquiades Ebardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Alvaro Ezkerra took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Melquiades Ebardo to make any attempt to save it. In the 23rd minute, Cecilio Oliverio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Ebardo made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Emanuel Rodas sent off a good shot on target. When Alvaro Ezkerra came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the gilguero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Ezkerra couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, gilguero's Alvaro Ezkerra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Melquiades Ebardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alvaro Ezkerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Ebardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Artemio Balesio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cachiyuyo's Aquilino Ostots got a free kick in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melquiades Ebardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Ezkerra in the 59th minute of play. When Artemio Balesio came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cachiyuyo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artemio Balesio couldn't finish the play. Froilan Chorache made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artemio Balesio in the 69th minute. After 70 minutes, Filomeno Garci mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the gilguero and the Cachiyuyo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Filomeno Garci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Alvaro Ezkerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. gilguero's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvaro Ezkerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Ebardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Ezkerra came free, but Melquiades Ebardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Rodas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melquiades Ebardo having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Eliseo Fidensio took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Froilan Chorache to make any attempt to save it. Artemio Balesio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Froilan Chorache made a huge save. In the 92nd minute, Artemio Balesio fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Froilan Chorache, passed just outside the right post. Alvaro Ezkerra struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Melquiades Ebardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for gilguero. Reynaldo Barros hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Emanuel Rodas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Ebardo having to interfere.
