Tomás Niguel's late challenge caught a Christophersen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durazno FC's Luisito Muc became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. If Adrian Cordarell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Eduardo Giro put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Genaro Nuxila. After 17 minutes, Adrian Cordarell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Christophersen and the Durazno FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Christophersen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Cordarell to maneuver through the defense. Genaro Nuxila made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eduardo Giro in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute Epifanio Gaufred shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Nuxila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Giro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Genaro Nuxila made a huge save. In the 33rd minute of the match Durazno FC got a corner. Christophersen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcelo Gorka ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Marcelo Gorka got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Genaro Nuxila quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Genaro Nuxila stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Epifanio Gaufred's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Leonides Blasco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Christophersen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Durazno FC the free kick. In the 40th minute of the match Marcelo Gorka sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Genaro Nuxila skillfully saved the ball. When Leonides Blasco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 41 minutes had been played. The crowd rose to their feet as Durazno FC's Epifanio Gaufred slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Genaro Nuxila. That made the score 2-2 after 43 minutes of play. Christophersen's Genaro Nuxila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epifanio Gaufred in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Epifanio Gaufred stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Giro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genaro Nuxila was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Durazno FC's zone, Siro Abilio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisito Muc came out of the goal and Siro Abilio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Uriel Alvarez's late challenge caught a Durazno FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But to his dismay, Epifanio Gaufred quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Durazno FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
