Pedro Alvarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaudencio Cesaro having to interfere. Lavalia's Gaudencio Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmar Karmel in the 12th minute of play. If Paulo Savier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jaime Lehoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herminio Oso scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaudencio Cesaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Lavalia's zone, Pedro Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaudencio Cesaro came out of the goal and Pedro Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Alvarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Celestino Loren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Instituto's zone, Paulo Savier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Loren came out of the goal and Paulo Savier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Lehoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Paulo Savier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelino Luzea kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Instituto were awarded a corner. Baltasar Bernaldo went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Instituto's corner Baltasar Bernaldo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gaudencio Cesaro quite easily take care of the ball. The Lavalia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Instituto were winning 0-1.

In the 74th minute, Jaime Lehoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Feliciano Maxin placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Jaime Lehoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
