In the 3rd minute Roman Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Loren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gabriel Tipi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Malvinas's goalkeeper Gabriel Tipi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herminio Oso. A hard shot by Baltasar Bernaldo from long distance, 10 minutes into the match, got Gabriel Tipi's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Celestino Loren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Henry in the 18th minute of the match. After 23 minutes of play, Instituto's Herminio Oso made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gabriel Tipi was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Instituto's zone, Ubaldo Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Loren came out of the goal and Ubaldo Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Roman Henry came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Malvinas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Henry couldn't finish the play. Celestino Loren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubaldo Furtado in the 30th minute of play. Instituto's Pedro Alvarez got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herminio Oso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Gabriel Tipi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Roman Henry in the 40th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ubaldo Furtado might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celestino Loren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ubaldo Furtado ran back to his position shaking his head. 45 minutes into the match, Malvinas's Ubaldo Furtado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celestino Loren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roman Henry to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Anastasio Frichoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Instituto's zone, Roman Henry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Loren came out of the goal and Roman Henry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Herminio Oso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Instituto's supporters rose to their feet, but Herminio Oso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Tipi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Instituto's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Henry came free, but Celestino Loren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Eskuin's late challenge caught a Malvinas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Honorato Eskuin helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 minutes, Benito Bemabe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Instituto and the Malvinas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benito Bemabe hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, Amadeo Nikola sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Celestino Loren threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Amadeo Nikola this time. Celestino Loren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Henry in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Herminio Oso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabriel Tipi. Malvinas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herminio Oso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 93rdth minute of the game Roman Henry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Instituto's Celestino Loren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Malvinas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Instituto.
