To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aaron Abaurre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabriel Tipi having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Escriña's Marcial Euloxu got a free kick in the 29th minute. Ubaldo Furtado hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Omar Giraldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Escriña's German Cordara got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 minutes, Elias Diaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malvinas and the Escriña players grew even worse after the yellow card.
