In the 17th minute Pedro Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquiles Malvin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Herminio Oso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herminio Oso took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aquiles Malvin. Aquiles Malvin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Instituto's Pedro Alvarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aquiles Malvin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Ursino scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celestino Loren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Isaias Bastia's late challenge caught a Instituto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaias Bastia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Isaias Bastia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Aquiles Malvin managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Instituto's Herminio Oso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Chorrillos's Aquiles Malvin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Alvarez in the 41st minute of play. Pedro Alvarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th match minute, Chorrillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eustacio Jurgi to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Genaro Lamberto made a kick off. If Pedro Alvarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Chorrillos's Eustacio Jurgi got a free kick in the 54th minute. Aquiles Malvin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Alvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Alvarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Malvin having to interfere. Instituto's Celestino Loren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Instituto from getting a goal against them. Danilo Udalaitz's late challenge caught a Instituto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo Udalaitz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chorrillos getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Isaias Bastia hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Herminio Oso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aquiles Malvin was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute, Cristian Ursino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 85th minute of the match Danilo Udalaitz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Danilo Udalaitz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Honorato Eskuin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aquiles Malvin. Chorrillos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Chorrillos's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Alvarez came free, but Aquiles Malvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Eskuin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aquiles Malvin. Chorrillos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
