Aldo Luar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Iago in the 8th minute of play. After 13 played minutes River Pasion got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Gabon. In the 14th match minute Eriberto Hitzeder ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Lisandro Lando. 1-0. In the 19th match minute, River Pasion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Oxarra to maneuver through the defense. When Julian Marz fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olimpia Juniors's protests and gave Julian Marz a yellow card for diving instead. Julian Marz hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. A collision led to River Pasion getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Aaron Gabon hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of River Pasion:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Olimpia Juniors:s goal. Eriberto Hitzeder placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! River Pasion's Lisandro Lando proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save River Pasion from getting a goal against them. If Julian Marz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aaron Gabon fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Olimpia Juniors's Fausto Cesaro got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodolfo Iago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Julian Marz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the game, River Pasion's Wilfredo Egun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aldo Luar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Olimpia Juniors's Aldo Luar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Iago in the 47th minute of play.

Olimpia Juniors's Fausto Cesaro got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Olimpia Juniors supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching River Pasion's performance. The match ended with a win for River Pasion.
