Ubaldo Thomas hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. A collision led to Gimnasia getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Natalio Orlo hit a great ball. Artemio Loren hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Hipolito Muc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia's supporters rose to their feet, but Hipolito Muc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Karmel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Denis Lucado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Artemio Loren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isidro Millano hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia's zone, Silvano Urtsua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Vincent came out of the goal and Silvano Urtsua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adrian Normando to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Palomas's Hermengildo Janpier got a free kick in the 55th minute. Hipolito Muc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Hipolito Muc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Karmel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipolito Muc in the 66th minute of play forced Palomas's goalkeeper Gustavo Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hipolito Muc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Karmel having to interfere. After some careless play in the Gimnasia defense, Adrian Normando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesus Vincent. The Gimnasia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesus Vincent should have stopped the shot. Tiburcio Goi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gustavo Karmel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83rd play minutes Hipolito Muc shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Gustavo Karmel and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Normando in the 87th minute of play forced Gimnasia's goalkeeper Jesus Vincent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gimnasia booed when Palomas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Baraquiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiburcio Goi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Gustavo Karmel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hipolito Muc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle sounded Gimnasia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Palomas.
