After a rather tough play, Club Atlético River Plate's Hermengildo Jaunzuria got a free kick in the 12th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Andres Montez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletico Varela the free kick. A collision led to Club Atlético River Plate getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Andres Montez hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Club Atlético River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Domingo Oliverios came free, but Erubiel Oxel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erubiel Oxel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 58 played minutes Atletico Varela got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Gagriel. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Anibal Guillerme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Anibal Guillerme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octavio Distiratsu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anibal Guillerme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
