Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hipolito Muc took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jesus Vincent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebio Abalos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute, Eusebio Abalos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jesus Vincent was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Eusebio Abalos scored 0-2 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jesus Vincent, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Evaristo Orlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilberto Quilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jesus Vincent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gimnasia's Jesus Vincent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frankie Hoff in the 14th minute of play. Jesus Vincent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebio Abalos in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Belgrano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Gamus to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute, Eusebio Abalos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Eusebio Abalos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jesus Vincent was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Natalio Orlo got free with Ulises Aznaro in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eusebio Abalos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jesus Vincent having to make a save. Humberto Gudesteo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Belgrano's Evaristo Orlan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jesus Vincent made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Gimnasia's Jesus Vincent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Quilo in the 42nd minute of play. Evaristo Orlan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jesus Vincent having to make a save. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gimnasia's goalkeeper Jesus Vincent, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evaristo Orlan to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Hipolito Muc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belgrano the free kick. Belgrano's Albano Orzaize was substituted for Alonzo Gabirel. Hipolito Muc hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Goi in the 57th minute of play forced Belgrano's goalkeeper Ulises Aznaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Gimnasia's goal looked a bit too open when Siro Aimar came free, but Jesus Vincent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremias Nayely recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeremias Todor kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Evaristo Orlan struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Jesus Vincent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgrano. Belgrano's Siro Aimar pulled a muscle in his back after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 71 minutes, Tiburcio Goi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gimnasia and the Belgrano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Belgrano made a substitution. Romulo Cambranes replaced Siro Aimar. In the 72nd match minute, Gimnasia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Goi to maneuver through the defense. Jesus Vincent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebio Abalos in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Ayman Abdul Baqi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano's supporters rose to their feet, but Ayman Abdul Baqi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesus Vincent breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romulo Cambranes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute, Belgrano's Eusebio Abalos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. In the 95th minute Natalio Orlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Aznaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belgrano played a much better game than Gimnasia and deserved their victory. The Gimnasia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
