Vladimiro Koldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Gustavo Karmel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Palomas's goal looked a bit too open when Ulises Galsino came free, but Gustavo Karmel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes Palomas got a freekick which was hit by Artemio Loren. Freddy Abarca was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Palomas's Artemio Loren got a free kick in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, Palomas's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Koldo came free, but Gustavo Karmel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palomas's Gustavo Karmel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Koldo in the 35th minute of play. Gustavo Karmel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Koldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angel Platon kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adrian Normando to make the kick off. If Silvano Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, Palomas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Platon to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Vladimiro Koldo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Karmel was relentless in the 97th minute of the game.
