Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Anibal Guillerme started the match with the kick off. Erubiel Oxel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiburcio Goi in the 5th minute. A collision led to Club Atlético River Plate getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Andres Montez hit a great ball. If Hipolito Muc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tiburcio Goi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Erubiel Oxel made a huge save. 17 minutes into the game, Clodoveo Gaizko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gimnasia the free kick. In the 20th minute, Gimnasia's Hipolito Muc ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erubiel Oxel. Erubiel Oxel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hipolito Muc in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erubiel Oxel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 25 minutes into the match, Club Atlético River Plate's goalkeeper Erubiel Oxel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiburcio Goi. Anibal Guillerme took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jesus Vincent. Jesus Vincent dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Hipolito Muc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erubiel Oxel having to interfere. Tiburcio Goi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anibal Guillerme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 2-2 became the score in the 43rd minute when Anibal Guillerme elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hipolito Muc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hipolito Muc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hipolito Muc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Erubiel Oxel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Clodoveo Gaizko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hipolito Muc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erubiel Oxel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hipolito Muc went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. If Tiburcio Goi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiburcio Goi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erubiel Oxel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute Anibal Guillerme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Vincent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Gimnasia players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
