Racing Club's Desiderio Madaleno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siro Aimar in the 23rd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebio Abalos came free, but Desiderio Madaleno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Club's zone, Evaristo Orlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Desiderio Madaleno came out of the goal and Evaristo Orlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eusebio Abalos came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Belgrano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebio Abalos couldn't finish the play. If Evaristo Orlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Evaristo Orlan made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Racing Club's Desiderio Madaleno got control of the ball when Eusebio Abalos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Belgrano's Ayman Abdul Baqi got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 minutes of play, Racing Club's Clodoveo Egun made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulises Aznaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 73 minutes into the game, Belgrano's Evaristo Orlan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Desiderio Madaleno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Desiderio Madaleno made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Evaristo Orlan sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Eusebio Abalos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Abalos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Desiderio Madaleno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Evaristo Orlan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgrano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. After 92 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Moises Mino. If Eusebio Abalos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
