The Ciudadela AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Venancio Jorrin should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute Romeo Txomin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Jorrin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ernesto Garaona fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciudadela AFC's protests and gave Ernesto Garaona a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Ciudadela AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Garaona to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ciudadela AFC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Saturnino Diagur hit a great ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Los Hornos FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabio Mateo to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Ciudadela AFC's Venancio Jorrin got control of the ball when Romeo Txomin tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Los Hornos FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ciudadela AFC:s goal. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for Ciudadela AFC. Hilario Mergildo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Leon Urdaspal. 1-2. Venancio Jorrin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabio Mateo's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Fabio Mateo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciudadela AFC's Venancio Jorrin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Ciudadela AFC from getting a goal against them. Maximino Ekain hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Venancio Jorrin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Mateo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Tono sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Ciudadela AFC's Venancio Jorrin got control of the ball when Romeo Txomin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabio Mateo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Venancio Jorrin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Hornos FC's Fabio Mateo got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Los Hornos FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ciudadela AFC throughout the match.
