The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Delmar Silbestre charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Julio Velasco came out of the goal and Cecilio Gonzales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cecilio Gonzales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Velasco having to interfere. In the 15thth minute of the game Honorio Haitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tabaquillo FC's Joel Olayo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joel Olayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Haitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Olayo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severiano Balasi in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Tabaquillo FC's Cecilio Gonzales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Velasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolo Peio kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Tabaquillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Ugutz. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorio Haitz in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Olayo saved Tabaquillo FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Gonzales in the 49th minute of play forced Clan FC's goalkeeper Julio Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Clan FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tabaquillo FC were winning 0-1.

The supporters of Clan FC booed when Tabaquillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the game, Clan FC's Honorio Haitz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Olayo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Igor Jenaro struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute.
