After having played for 5 minutes, Gaston Ledesma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pipinas AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Ledesma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Pipinas AFC's Mario Chago slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eriberto Pancho. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. When Delmiro Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Chancay FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmiro Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Eriberto Pancho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaston Ledesma in the 31st minute. Gaston Ledesma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mario Chago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pipinas AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Chago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Pancho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gaston Ledesma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Gaston Ledesma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eriberto Pancho. Chancay FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaston Ledesma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Delmiro Azevedo made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Genaro Niva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaston Ledesma in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eriberto Pancho saved Chancay FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Mario Chago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Pancho was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. If Mario Chago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Ledesma took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eriberto Pancho. Eriberto Pancho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 86 minutes into the match, Chancay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Ledesma came free, but Eriberto Pancho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eriberto Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Chago, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute.
