The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ramiro Matro charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Matro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atlanta United! Saturnino Grabiel walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Manuel Kismi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Diegotxe was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Manuel Kismi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manuel Kismi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Cirilo Abadia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Kismi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Diegotxe having to interfere. When Candelarias AFC's Manuel Kismi in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlanta United's goalie prevented a goal. Urbano Eneto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Dario Victoro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Candelarias AFC's Cirilo Abadia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Diegotxe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Atlanta United's Isaias Arlo in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Candelarias AFC's goalie prevented a goal. If Urbano Eneto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaias Arlo took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dario Victoro. Dario Victoro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Kismi was the one to do the kick off. Francisco Diegotxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Kismi in the 54th minute of the match. Eloy Ursino hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Manuel Kismi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Diegotxe having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Manuel Kismi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Diegotxe. Atlanta United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Kismi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 81st match minute, Candelarias AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloy Ursino to maneuver through the defense. Isaias Arlo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dario Victoro having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Urbano Eneto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dario Victoro. That made the score 3-2 in the 91 minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Atlanta United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Candelarias AFC.
