Thanks to some nice moves Melquiades Urtsua could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Samuel Santana however easily saved by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Changos 's Raul Macerio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Samuel Santana. That made the score 2-0 after 45 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldo Luix made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victorio Ospetsu during the 53rd minute. When Melquiades Urtsua came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Changos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melquiades Urtsua couldn't finish the play. Melquiades Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Samuel Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 87 minutes, Raul Macerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Changos 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Macerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Cululú booed when Changos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cirilo Raphael didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Changos 's zone, Everardo Jerrald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nunez Vincent came out of the goal and Everardo Jerrald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
