LUJAN F.C.'s Mario Gonzo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save LUJAN F.C. from getting a goal against them. Claudio Montrelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Mario Gonzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. LUJAN F.C.'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jaime Sayveon 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Ambrosio Leobardo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilfredo Haritz. Unión Trelew's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Sayveon in the 29th minute of play forced LUJAN F.C.'s goalkeeper Mario Gonzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natalio Etxatxu struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Wilfredo Haritz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LUJAN F.C.. Jaime Sayveon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mario Gonzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ciriaco Leoncio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Natalio Etxatxu made a kick off. Ciriaco Leoncio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilfredo Haritz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. If Jaime Sayveon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mario Gonzo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Sayveon's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Jaime Sayveon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Gonzo. LUJAN F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Sayveon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Claudio Montrelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Gonzo having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Claudio Montrelle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unión Trelew's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Montrelle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudio Montrelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Gonzo having to interfere. If Claudio Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Florentino Bortzaioriz's late challenge caught a Unión Trelew's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florentino Bortzaioriz helped the player get up and apologised. Unión Trelew walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
