Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Banfield's Segundo Admon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Banfield's zone, Ciriaco Leoncio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Mingo came out of the goal and Ciriaco Leoncio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute, Ciriaco Leoncio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ambrosio Leobardo shot from long distance in the 20th minute, but Jacobo Mingo was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Jacobo Mingo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florentino Bortzaioriz in the 23rd minute. 30 minutes into the game, Florentino Bortzaioriz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LUJAN F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Banfield the free kick. A collision led to LUJAN F.C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Florentino Bortzaioriz hit a great ball. Ciriaco Leoncio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Mingo having to interfere. Natalio Etxatxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Mingo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Etxatxu in the 39th minute of play. Ciriaco Leoncio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th match minute, Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo Admon to maneuver through the defense. After 49 minutes Banfield's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ambrosio Leobardo who took care of the corner kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Natalio Etxatxu to make the kick off. Segundo Admon struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Mario Gonzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banfield. 58 minutes into the match, Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Etxatxu came free, but Jacobo Mingo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Natalio Etxatxu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Mingo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Ciriaco Leoncio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jacobo Mingo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Natalio Etxatxu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Banfield's Jacobo Mingo. Jacobo Mingo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Natalio Etxatxu managed to get in a good position for a shot. LUJAN F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Natalio Etxatxu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Banfield's Jacobo Mingo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Leoncio in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Etxatxu in the 83rd minute of play forced Banfield's goalkeeper Jacobo Mingo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacobo Mingo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Leoncio, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Natalio Etxatxu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jacobo Mingo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natalio Etxatxu might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacobo Mingo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Natalio Etxatxu ran back to his position shaking his head. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. LUJAN F.C. had played much better football throughout.
