The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Penca got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Micael. Apolo Frechoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferenc Segesváry having to interfere. Bonifacio Rivero scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Genaro Abecia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bonifacio Rivero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bonifacio Rivero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Abecia having to interfere. Apolo Frechoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Inocencio Txomin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Ferenc Segesváry made a huge save. Ferenc Segesváry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolo Frechoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Rivero in the 36th minute of play forced Corazon Millonario's goalkeeper Genaro Abecia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Corazon Millonario booed when Penca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Garikoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Penca's Ferenc Segesváry proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Penca from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Apolo Frechoso to make the kick off. Reynaldo Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Abecia having to interfere. Inocencio Txomin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Bonifacio Rivero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute Cecilio Napier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferenc Segesváry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferenc Segesváry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Frechoso in the 71st minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Gilberto Diegotxe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bonifacio Rivero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bonifacio Rivero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Abecia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Ferenc Segesváry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inocencio Txomin in the 95th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
