The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clodoveo Diegotxe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Vincent having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saturnino Gombal in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nunez Vincent saved Changos from getting behind. Anier Lizardi kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Iratxo to maneuver through the defense. Melquiades Urtsua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atilano Truylos having to interfere. When Eriberto Iratxo fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argentina's protests and gave Eriberto Iratxo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Iratxo to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute Melquiades Urtsua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Truylos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Argentina got a freekick which was hit by Arsenio Argenis. Argentina's Saturnino Gombal got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saturnino Gombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Vincent having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Clodoveo Diegotxe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Clodoveo Diegotxe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nunez Vincent breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute of the match Julian Fonso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nunez Vincent showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saturnino Gombal in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nunez Vincent prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the match, Changos 's goalkeeper Nunez Vincent had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clodoveo Diegotxe. If Melquiades Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saturnino Gombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Vincent having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melquiades Urtsua was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Melquiades Urtsua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Changos 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melquiades Urtsua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute, Tomas Bernabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes in the game, Melquiades Urtsua fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Atilano Truylos having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Argenis to maneuver through the defense. Melquiades Urtsua might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atilano Truylos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Melquiades Urtsua ran back to his position shaking his head. Melquiades Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Atilano Truylos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Eriberto Iratxo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Iratxo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nunez Vincent came out of the goal and Saturnino Gombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melquiades Urtsua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clodoveo Diegotxe in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nunez Vincent prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clodoveo Diegotxe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
