Catenaccio F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonifacio Perutxo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodoro Piearres in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aquiles Frascuelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The attack was good, but when Teodoro Piearres in the 31st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Piearres in the 83rd minute of play forced Catenaccio F.C.'s goalkeeper Aquiles Frascuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Catenaccio F.C.'s zone, Luisito Sol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquiles Frascuelo came out of the goal and Luisito Sol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Teofilo Mederi fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ave Fenix's protests and gave Teofilo Mederi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ave Fenix's Teofilo Mederi got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ave Fenix's goalkeeper Silvio Suero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
