Freddy Isias hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Osvaldo Potente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Ospin having to interfere. La inerte barra de carbón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Potente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Benard's Alonzo Hotz threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Freddy Isias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Osvaldo Potente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Osvaldo Potente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldo Potente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Freddy Isias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alonzo Hotz. That made the score 2-0 in the 40 minute of play. If Osvaldo Potente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jesus Urtun got free with Alonzo Hotz in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 48thth minute of the game Jesus Urtun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La inerte barra de carbón's Alonzo Hotz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldo Potente made a kick off. Alonzo Hotz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Urtun, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Osvaldo Potente came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the La inerte barra de carbón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Potente couldn't finish the play. Osvaldo Potente's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Mauro Ospin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Osvaldo Potente managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mauro Ospin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alonzo Hotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Isias in the 88th minute of play. Osvaldo Potente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Ospin having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Poz in the 95th minute of play forced La inerte barra de carbón's goalkeeper Alonzo Hotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Benard could leave the field as winners, despite La inerte barra de carbón having more of the ball for most of the match.
