The long shot by Pascual Fonda in the 28th minute really tested Abelardo Cambranes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Clemente Xacintu scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santos Intxixu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Txilar in the 40th minute of play forced Yaretayo's goalkeeper Santos Intxixu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clemente Xacintu kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Roberto Miliano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roberto Miliano to make the kick off. In the 56thth minute of the game Roberto Miliano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diamante AFC's Abelardo Cambranes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Yaretayo's zone, Aristides Txilar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santos Intxixu came out of the goal and Aristides Txilar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Txilar in the 60th minute of play forced Yaretayo's goalkeeper Santos Intxixu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute Aristides Txilar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Intxixu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Roberto Miliano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roberto Miliano in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Cambranes saved Diamante AFC from getting behind. Aristides Txilar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Intxixu having to interfere. Silvestre Ciano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Abelardo Cambranes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Roberto Miliano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Silvestre Ciano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abelardo Cambranes. Diamante AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvestre Ciano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2.
