Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 78 minutes into the match, Benard's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Felo came free, but Mauro Ospin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddy Isias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeo Javiar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Aurelio Maura was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 86 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Superquates F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Benard:s goal. When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, Benard's Jeronimo Aurken got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Romeo Javiar.
