After 18 minutes, Celso Gaztea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Belgrano FC and the Esperanza AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Esperanza AFC booed when Belgrano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Gaztea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erasmo Silviano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eliseo Lluciano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Erasmo Silviano was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 31st minute. Esperanza AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Belgrano FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Celso Gaztea hit a great ball. Santo Isusko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Pepillo in the 41st minute of the match. Santo Isusko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Orain, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Eduardo Pepillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Santo Isusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The Esperanza AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Belgrano FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
