When Rosendo Senen came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Fecha Libre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosendo Senen couldn't finish the play. Rosendo Senen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Carmelo Valerio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aquilino Santana was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. With a little luck, Fecha Libre's Freddy Presebal got control of the ball when Roque Lando tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22ndth minute of the game Silverio Frans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fecha Libre's Freddy Presebal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute, Rosendo Senen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carmelo Valerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Aquilino Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rosendo Senen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aquilino Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmelo Valerio in the 37th minute of the match. When Fecha Libre's Carmelo Valerio in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 played minutes Atlético Devoto got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Quintana.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carmelo Valerio to strike the kick off in the second half. Freddy Presebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Lando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 54 minutes, Fermin Matia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fecha Libre and the Atlético Devoto players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 54 played minutes Fecha Libre got a freekick which was hit by Fermin Matia. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Roque Lando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Devoto's supporters rose to their feet, but Roque Lando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddy Presebal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rosendo Senen might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquilino Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rosendo Senen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62nd match minute, Atlético Devoto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Lando to maneuver through the defense. Rosendo Senen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 minutes of play, Atlético Devoto's Roque Lando made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Freddy Presebal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fecha Libre's Freddy Presebal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roque Lando in the 75th minute of play. Freddy Presebal came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Devoto's Arnoldo Illan. But to his dismay, Arnoldo Illan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Carmelo Valerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Santana having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Fecha Libre's Aquilino Santana threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carmelo Valerio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Valerio in the 96th minute of play forced Atlético Devoto's goalkeeper Aquilino Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Fecha Libre booed when Atlético Devoto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Manny didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Fecha Libre's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Fecha Libre may have spent more time on the ball, but Atlético Devoto were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
